Charles City Middle School
Opened August 2016
This 86,260 square foot Charles City Middle School is constructed behind, and connected to, the Charles City High School. This 21st-century learning environment allows extended learning opportunities for CCMS students and better utilization of resources. The project was funded through physical plant and equipment levy (PPEL) and 1¢ local option sales tax dollars and did not affect property taxes in the Charles City Community School District.

Transportation Center
Opened August 2017
Located behind the Charles City High School & Charles City Middle School, the new transportation center includes at 8,370 square foot center contains a repair garage, five bays for vehicle storage, a transportation washing bay and offices for the Buildings, Grounds, and Transportation Director, the Transportation Assistant, and the Technology department. Also, each Charles City Community School District bus is stored inside two, seven bay locked garages for overnight storage.
