FAFSA4caster Charles City

Parents of students in grades 5-8 are invited to attend the Charles City Middle School FAFSA4Caster event on April 1, 2019 during Parent/Teacher Conferences. Two separate presentations will be offered including one from 12:00-1:00 PM and a second session from 5:30-6:30 PM. Both sessions will be held in the 8th-grade studio in the Charles City Middle School. During this event, attendees will hear from admissions representatives from the University of Northern Iowa (UNI) and the North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) as information is presented about a variety of different financial aid available for tuition assistance. Regardless of income level, there are many types of aid available for students and families interested in pursuing education beyond high school. No matter the age of your child, this event will provide you with relevant information to help you feel more confident in preparing financially for the journey to college.

Event Agenda:

12:00 - 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 - 6:00 p.m.
Presentations from UNI and NIACC

12:30 - 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 6:30 p.m.
Complete the FAFSA 4Caster

During the final 30 minutes of the event, parents will have the opportunity to log onto the FAFSA4Caster website and complete a FAFSA4Caster for their child. Within only a few minutes, parents will be able to get a snapshot view of potential financial aid available based on their income level, as if their child were to go to college tomorrow.

What to Bring:

  • Child’s date of birth

  • Estimate of family yearly gross income

  • Cost of attendance for a college of your interest

    • (This is optional but will help you receive a more accurate indicator of estimated aid)

Food and childcare will be provided during this event. If you would like to attend, please RSVP by March 8 via email to either Mrs. Hagensick (3rd-6th grade school counselor) or Mrs. Hottle (7th-9th grade school counselor). Within your RSVP, please include the number of people attending the workshop and how many children need childcare. We look forward to seeing you on April 1!
