The Iowa Legislature is more than 403 days delinquent in setting supplemental state aid (SSA) for the 2016-17 school year. Not knowing what the SSA allocation is forces schools across the state to budget at a 0% increase. Schools are required to certify their budget by April 15, 2016.
This is part of the reason there is uncertainty in the District budget for next year.
Parents and community members are urged to take three minutes to contact the Iowa Legislature and urge them to set SSA quickly.
