Wednesday was a FANTASTIC day to spend at the Fossil Prairie Park in Rockford. Our trip was based on the units of science we cover in First Grade. They are Insects, Rocks and Plants. The Fossil Prairie Park has it all! We collected fossils in the quarry. We caught and released insects at the edge of the prairie grass areas and in the pond water. We observed different plants as we walked through the trails of the prairie grass. We ate our sack lunches at the picnic area. You can be very proud of your children as they were great examples of our cornerstones of character.
