Mobile School Alerts

The Charles City Community School System uses a variety of communication tools to keep you informed about what’s happening at school. We use a text messaging, email, and phone calling system called SchoolMessenger. 

The most common use of the system is to alert you to changes in the school schedule due to weather. We also use the system to remind you of important events like parent/teacher conferences. 


To get phone calls, texts, and e-mails

Please contact your student's school secretary and ask to be on the list. The building secretary will be able to add you to the system, and you will be added to the system within 24 hours of notifying the school.


Text yesReceive text messages

In order to receive text messages from the Charles City Community School District, you must opt-in. The easiest way to opt-in is to send a message to 68453 with the message "Yes". You should receive an opt-in message within a few minutes. 

We also must have your mobile phone number in our system, please make sure your student's school secretary has your contact information.

If you need notification of school changes and you don't have a direct tie to a student, please contact Justin DeVore, Director of Communications for more information about receiving updates via school messenger.
