Whether you are looking to relocate to our community with a new job or are considering open enrolling to Charles City for your students to participate in activities and curricular offerings, we are ready for your family.
Our modern and innovative Charles City Middle School opened in August of 2016. Students are engaged, inspired, and empowered to learn in a 21st-century environment. Plan are being developed to renovate and reconstruct Charles City High School. At the elementary level, students at Washington (grades PK-2) and Lincoln (grades 3-4) receive individual attention to help them flourish.
Innovation in Action
In partnership with New Hampton, Osage, and Rockford, the Charles City Community School District launched the Iowa BIG North program in 2016. It quickly has become the model for rural Iowa schools looking to strengthen the ties between students and local businesses. Through Iowa BIG North, high school students engage in projects that benefit their business partners while also earning high school credits. The North Butler, Riceville, and Turkey Valley school districts will join the consortium in 2018.

Our district-wide Talented and Gifted program begins in elementary school. Eighth grade students have Ag, Business, German, and Spanish as part of their exploratories. Advanced Placement and college level classes are offered at Charles City High School.

Prepared for Life
Upon graduation, students are prepared for post-secondary education or entering the 21st-century workforce. Our graduates are creative thinkers with leadership and problem-solving abilities. Students know how to be part of a team to accomplish great things and are motivated to make a difference in their community. They are proud to be part of the Charles City Community School District and proud to say “We Are CC”.
