Performing Arts Center - Fundraising

Efforts to raise funding to build a new performing arts center in Charles City is getting a shot in the arm. A volunteer committee of local citizens is working to get the effort started.  Since May of 2021, the group has traveled to existing comparable facilities, studied fundraising techniques, and devised a portfolio outlining the need to create a new Center for The Performing Arts.

Bob Freund moved to  Charles City in 1975 to work at Salsbury Industries. Freund, whose daughter, Missy Freund, served on the Charles City School Board, and has two grandchildren in the Charles City Community Schools performing arts program, is now retired himself and challenges his fellow citizens to join him in contributing to the project.
