Community Notices

The Charles City Community School District knows organizations and businesses make plans based on the school calendar, and we are a vital communication link to our community. Our text, email, and phone calling system is leading in alerting the whole community.

We also partner with Floyd County Emergency Management with messaging during times of urgent community need like the floods of 2016.

Weather

In Iowa, inclement weather is a possibility nearly every month of the year. The safety of students is the judgment used for determining when to cancel school, start late, or send the buses home early.

In most situations, the decision to cancel classes will be made by 5:30 a.m. and the determination to release early will be announced before noon. When the Charles City Community School District changes plans, we will use the communication streams found below.
