The Charles City Community School District Board of Education has named Dr. Anne Lundquist as the district’s interim superintendent for the 2022-23 school year.
Dr. Lundquist’s areas of expertise include fiscal and budgetary management, district and school development, organizational development, 21st century learning skills, and program evaluation. She recently served as chief officer of academic services for the Ankeny Community School District, where she led the revision and reintroduction of the district’s strategic plan, implemented a revised principal evaluation system for 18 school administrators, and established quality indicator metrics for the district’s secondary schools.
Previously, Dr. Lundquist was superintendent of the Red Lake School District in Minnesota and was a special program manager for the Minnesota Department of Education’s Regional Centers of Excellence. She is currently a classroom teacher at Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Charles City.
Dr. Lundquist holds an Ed.D. in education and a master’s degree in educational administration, both from Drake University. She also received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and bachelor’s degree in art from Graceland University.
The Board of Education has been working with Grundmeyer Services to conduct the interim superintendent search. The board and administrator interview teams conducted final interviews with each of the three finalists on Monday, April 25.
Dr. Lundquist will begin serving the Charles City Community School District as interim superintendent effective July 1, 2022. The board will also begin the process of searching for the next permanent district superintendent.
